Summary
The Food Server will perform kitchen tasks such maintaining cleanliness of all food service area sand preparing workstations. A server will be quick and diligent and willing to improve on the job. Server must have exceptional, personalized customer service with a warming and welcoming smile. The ideal candidate will also be able to function in a fast-paced, busy environment as a part of a team; as well as have attention to detail and planning to be able to multitask
EssentialFunctions
- Follow the prep list created by chef to prepare breakfast, lunch, salads.
- Support with meal set-up including stocking condiments,breads,rolls,buns and chips
- Ensure kitchen equipment and appliances are ready fo ruse.
- Carry food, silverware, and/or line on trays, or use carts to carry trays.
- Place food servings on plates and trays according to orders or instructions.
- Clean, wash, sterilize and store all eating and drinking gutensils,pots, pans,and other related items.
- Clean all kitchen surfaces (floors,walls, counters,etc.);maintaining clean dish washerand
dishwashing areas.
- Facilitate and ensure safe environment(with respect to health and safety hazards) in the kitchen. Observesafetyproceduresandprecautions.
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
- Perform other kitchen duties asassigned
- Prepare tables with special attention to sanitation and order
- Answer questions or make recommendations for complementary products
- Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen staff
- Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude

Knowledge required

- Proven experience as food server
- Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils

Thispositionisresponsibleto working “client friendly”environments and is assigned to a site where homeless services are provided (shelter, motel, etc.). There is some responsibility to work in noisy environments where home less participants are present.
physical requirements
This position will require walking, driving and standing for extended periods of time, safely using required tools and equipment to perform food preparation. Ability to bend, stand, and stoop for long periods of time, and working long hours in hot conditions. Ability to lift and move 50 pounds. Staff also spends time thinking, writing, listening, and speaking.
