Rapid RE-Housing

Rehousing connects the homeless population to temporary and permanent housing through the provision of time.

Case Management

A collaborative and planned approach to ensure that a person who experiences homelessness gets the services and support that they need to move forward with their lives. It is a comprehensive and strategic form of service provision whereby a caseworker assesses the needs of the individual (and potentially their family) and, where appropriate, arranges, coordinates, and advocates for delivery and access to a range of programs and services designed to meet their needs.

FEATURED PROJECTS

The number of individuals and families experiencing homelessness has increased dramatically over the course of the last twelve months. We’ve witnessed individuals who once had a zeal for life lose momentum because of extraordinary circumstances to include a lack of access to affordable housing, temporary resources as well as living wage jobs.  Home at Last seeks to mitigate many of these atrocities through a continuum of care program geared at lifting those who’ve fallen or been extradited based on circumstances beyond their immediate control.

TESTIMONIALS

Slide Home At Last CDC,
Thank you for an amazing housing experience. Forever grateful for all of the staff and resources you guys have provided for me!”
Slide First and foremost, I want to thank Home At Last CDC for everything provided freely. I want to say I did not feel homeless during the duration of my stay. However, for HALCDC to provide room and board, it alleviated the thoughts of “where am I going to stay” and “how am I going to eat”. From there it was easier to focus on where I wanted to be, and what I needed to do. My main message for everyone is to have the understanding that the BEST INTEREST is to take care of self, focus on your happiness, FEEL the solution and not the problem. If you give it your ALL, then you’ll get all that you deserve” Slide Hi, my name is Jason and I use to be homeless. At the age of 16, my mom was incarcerated for drugs and prostitution. One Friday morning, I realized that she wasn’t coming home, and at my age, the foster care system was pretty much out of the equation. I had 56 dollars in my pocket that I’d made cutting yards in the old neighborhood, and the clothes on my back. I hitchhiked a ride across country with the intentions of landing somewhere safe. When I arrived, I was faced with sexual abuse, drugs, and ultimately the streets became my home. Yearning for something greater, I sought out help, and hope. I’ll never forget the day I met the street team for Home at Last, they showed me a better life. Today I am 22 years old, I have my GED, I’m enrolled in community college, and I work full-time to support myself. Home at Last not only housed me, but they also fed my and gave me hope. There are several others on the streets of Los Angeles who are in the same predicament that I once was, and they need a helping hand. Won’t you consider donating to Home at Last? Your contribution is re-invested back into the community in the form of housing, case management, reduced recidivism, literacy training, job readiness and more. You can literally save a life and restore communities by donating today. Slide Thank you Home At Last CDC. I was given the housing opportunity to reset and redirect my life in a non-hostile environment. I also met and got to know likewise youth and gain encouragement and knowledge. Not for one second did I feel “homeless”. Once again, thanks.” Darius Slide Thank you Home At Last for having patience with my brother and helping him. I’m happy and thankful you called me. CHARITY

Imagine if you will, walking down the streets of a middle-class community in the Greater Los Angeles area, lined with green trees, well-manicured lawns, luxury vehicles in almost every driveway, and within 500 feet of success, you find young boys and girls living in tents, covered in soil, hungry and isolated from the modern world.  They have no place to call home, yet they find safety and security amongst communities that they cannot afford to live in.  As you imagine that world, focus on the possibilities and tangible resources that our youth could have access too, if only the financial means existed.  Resources such as affordable housing, mental health care, clothing, hot meals, and sustainable lifestyles are within reach with a simple donation.  Philanthropy isn’t just something that the rich do, it’s the common citizens that pour into the lives of the forgotten that create a mecca of resources, dignity, and resilience.  Your contributions large and small will benefit the lives of those emancipated youth and families who have no place to call home. Search within your hearts and help Home at Last to mitigate the ever-increasing number of homeless in our city. We thought Covid-19 was a pandemic, but homelessness is the ultimate pandemic as lives are not only destroyed, but families are also separated, and the world we often take for granted is a mere fairy tale to over 40% of citizens of Los Angeles County.  We encourage you to donate and make a difference today.
